PDP refuses the judgment, reveals the next action – Blueprint Newspapers Limited

The national leadership of the Democratic Party of people, (PDP), described the judgment of the court for the electoral petition of the Governor of the Edo state as judicial impartiality.

According to the PDP, after an in -depth revision, the question was considered an absolute judicial abortion and a complete betrayal of Nigerian trust, in particular the people of the Edo State, invested in the electoral court.

On Thursday, in a declaration by the secretary of national advertising, weak Ologunagba, the party insisted on the fact that with the overwhelming evidence correctly presented and also duly admitted by the Court, it was clear that his candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, won on September 21, 2024 Edo State Governorship election, having scored the highest number of votes valid in the election.

The party said that he was proceeding to the Court of Appeal together with his candidate, dr. Asue Ighadalo, to ensure that justice is made. They added that they believe that in court there will be a conscientious judicial review of the matter to give justice to the people of the Edo State.

We remind you that the Court of the Electoral Petition of the Governorate of the Edo Sitting Sitted in Abuja confirmed the election of the governor on Monday Okpebholo of the Congress All Progressives, APC, Wednesday.

The Court, in a unanimous decision by a group of three members, has not found no reason to cancel the result of the competition of governors held in the State on September 21, 2024.

The President of the Court, judge Wilfred Kpochi, who issued the main judgment, fired as lacking to deserve a petition, the Democratic Party of the peoples, the PDP, and his candidate, Asuerinme Ighadalo, presented to challenge the declaration of the governor Okpebhale as a valid winner of the government survey.

The Declaration of PDP recited: “The national leadership of the Democratic Party of the Peoples (PDP), after an in -depth revision of the judgment of the court for the electoral petition of the Governorate of the Edo State, states that the verdict is an absolute abortion of justice and a complete betrayal of the trust of the Nigerians, in particular the people of the Edo State invested in the elected court.

“The PDP insists on the fact that with the avalanche of evidence as correctly presented and also duly admitted by the Court; it was clear that his candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, won on September 21, 2024, the elections of the Governorate of the Edo State, having obtained the greatest number of valid votes expressed in the elections.

“It is very disturbing that, despite the overwhelming evidence and the discoveries of the court that the PDP has been robbed of its clear victory in the elections through manipulations, including the unjust confusion of votes at the ALL PROGRESSIVES Congress at the Congress (APC), arbitrary and illegal cancellation of valid votes conquered by the PDP, the election tribunal has confronted a vaglia.

“More distressing is that this judgment by the Court of the EDO Governorate Elections constitutes a serious threat to the trust that the Nigerians have in democracy and the judgment of the electoral issues.

“It is instructive to note that democracy can only thrive in an atmosphere of adherence to the rule of law and the judgment of issues that can only be accepted by the people only when a court of this nature will impartially appear the law, the facts and the corpus of evidence made available at the moment.

“However, consistent with the belief declared by PDP in the ability of the judiciary of, in appropriate cases, to ensure that justice is done, our party and the candidate, Dr. Asue Ighadalo, are proceeding with the Court of Appeal where we believe

“In the meantime, the PDP asks the people of the state of Edo to remain resolved and not allow the verdict of the electoral court to dampen their confidence in the establishment of the judiciary and democracy in Nigeria while waiting for the restoration of the mandate that have given freely to our party and our candidate, Dr. As Ase Ighodalo Elettion.”
