The Interior Minister reaffirms FG’s commitment to innovative governance, internal security
Abuja (basic reporter) Interior Minister, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Ministry for the coordination of internal security and the innovative government.
He said it when the president of Nigeria Computer Society, dr. Muhammad Sirajo Aliyu and his delegation visited the ministry in Abuja.
In his observations, the Minister said that the Ministry of the Interior is a vital hub for the coordination of internal security and the harmonization of policies. Highlighting the renewed agenda of hope, the minister stressed that governance under the administration of President Tinubu is not “business as usual” but rather “unusual”, focused on creativity, intuition and transformational leadership. “It’s about not bringing people where they want to be, but where they should be,” he said.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo has reflected on its results in office, in particular in exploiting technology to improve the nation safety architecture and the supply of public services.
He praised the courageous reforms of the president, including the removal of the fuel subsidy and unification of the exchange rate, which stabilized the economy and created a predictable environment for long -term investments. He urged the patience and support for the long -term vision of the president for national development.
He also invited institutions such as the Nigerian computer company to play a more active role in supporting systemic transformation. “As a creation of the law, you have a strategic responsibility in helping to build a resilient public service architecture,” he observed.
According to him, “leadership does not concern personal gain, but national survival. Sometimes, we must bury ourselves so that Nigeria can arise”.
The delegation of the Nigeria Computer Society, led by its president, dr. Muhammad Sirajo Aliyu praised the minister for his dedication to technological progress. The company recognized the minister’s contributions to digital transformation into Nigeria, in particular the modernization of immigration, correction and safety systems.
Dr. Aliyu also reiterated the company’s commitment to support the ministry through development projects, consultancy services and collaborations. “The Nigerian computer company, with over 30,000 members that extends throughout the academic world, the government and the industry, is ready to collaborate with the Ministry to achieve its goals,” he said.
This meeting establishes a new standard for the synergy between the government and professional associations, opening the way for transformative impacts on national development.
The delegation also informed the minister on the company’s top programs, in particular its annual international conference, which revolves through the Nigerian geopolitical areas. Recent conferences have attracted over 1,500 participants, with previous editions held in rivers and states of bauchi.
Dr. Aliyu reiterated the company’s commitment to support government’s efforts in the digital transformation of Nigeria through collaborative initiatives and political contributions.
