Presidentcy Segles Billboard of the Tinubu/Shettimo campaign, warnings of warnings

The presidency denounced the growing number of advertising billboards in some cities that promote the 2027 campaign for President Bola Tinubu and vice -president Kashim Shettimo.

The presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, in a declaration on Sunday 13 April 2025, said that some of these billboards with the photos of the president and his wife, Senator Oltemi Tinubu, remained in particular in Abuja and Kano.

The presidency observed that the premature campaign can undermine the integrity of the electoral process and create unjust advantages.

He said: “While President Tinubu and Vice -President Shettimo greatly appreciate their tender and faithful supporters throughout the country for their enthusiasm and continuous support, the two leaders do not support any campaign that violates the laws of the earth.

“The electoral law that guides the conduct of the elections and political campaigns forbids any form of the countryside for the general elections of 2027. The premature campaigns can undermine the integrity of the electoral process and create unjust advantages. While leaders who respect the law, the president Tinubu and the Vice President Shettimo do not support any action that satisfies our institutions and the electoral process.

“Until the independent National Electoral Commission (Iner) establishes the calendar for the 2027 elections, the president has not approved or authorized any or any group to mount a 2027 campaign for him through any media channel, both outside the home, printing, digital, radio or television.

“Therefore, we urgently call individuals and groups that finance this political campaign of 2027 through the deployment in the course of materials on advertising billboards at national level to cease immediately.

“President Tinubu and his deputy are fully committed to delivering the task in construction of the nation who have prepared themselves for themselves. This commitment is evident in their attention to economic revitalization, the development of human capital, the infrastructure renewal, social investments and national security.

“When the INNC indicates that the processes for the 2027 elections can begin, the president Tinubu will pay off the Nigerians of his plans duly.”
