One person died, 12 saved in the collapse of the Lagos building

At least one person died in a collapsed building in the Ojodu-Berger area in the state of Lagos on Saturday.

The coordinator, Lagos’s territorial office from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed the incident in a statement in Ikeja.

He said 12 people had been saved so far from the debris of the three-story building which fell around 10:00

He added that the cause of the incident was not ascertained.

Nema officials said the search and rescue operation was still ongoing at the scene.
