Mtn Nigeria Post n1trn Revenue

MTN Nigeria Communications PLC generated N1.578TRN trillion of service revenue in the first quarter of 2025.

This marks an increase of 40.5 percent compared to the N752.99 billion earned in the first quarter of 2024.

The company confirmed it in a company deposit with the Nigerian Exchange Ltd. Tuesday.

The profit net of taxes decreased by 134 %, descending to N133.7 billion from N392.7 billion in the same period of 2024.

Its total base of subscribers grew by 8.2 percent to 84.1 million, with 3.2 million new additions in the first quarter of 2025.

Active data users increased by 13 % to 50.3 million, following the addition of 2.6 million users.

Ebitda rose by 65.9 percent to N492.7 billion, while the Ebitda margin improved by 7.2 percentage points at 46.6 percent.

The company recorded a free cash flow of N209.9 billion and the profits per share stood at N6.38.

Karl Toriola, CEO of Mtn Nigeria, expressed satisfaction for the results of Q1 2025, citing a strong strategic execution and a resilient service demand.

He said that the momentum of the 4th quarter 2024 contributed to putting the company on the right road to restore profitability and reach a positive net position of activity.

He added that the regulatory approval for price adjustments was essential to support investments and maintain the quality of the service.

This approval has allowed n202.4 billion of capital expenses, growing by 159 %, aimed at expanding the ability and improve the user’s experience.

Toriola said that the growth of 40.5 percent of the service revenues underlined a strong demand and commercial discipline.

He observed that the results of Q1 do not yet reflect the full impact of the price variations made at the end of the quarter.
