Iwobi, Bassey Subbed in Fulham’s defeat, Arsenal lost to B’Mouth

The Super Eagles duo from Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey took action to Fulham in their 1-0 defeat of Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday.

The two players were replaced in the second half when Fulham struggled in their search for at least one point from the meeting.

But Aston Villa who recovered from the FA Cup semifinal defeat by Crystal Palace in their last match, to secure victory at home.

The 12th minute winner by Yoi Tielemans was enough to submit the Unai Emery team for three points.

Victory moved the Villa level at the point with Chelsea, which occupies the fifth and most recent Champions League, and Nottingham Forest who are sixth.

Then on Saturday, Arsenal waved the lead one goal when they fell 2-1 to visit Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners’ hopes to build momentum before their important Champions League match with Paris St-Germain in the middle of the week were beaten by Bournemouth.

Declan Rice has marked his 1200 appearance for the Gunners with the opening in the first round, before Dean Huijsen equalized in the 67th minute and Evanilson joined the winner of 15 minutes from time.

In another Premier League match played on weekends, Everton and Ipswich Town played a 2-2 draw while Leicester defeated Southampton 2-0.
