Three police officers in the Kebbi state have been detained for the death of a suspect, Abubakar Auwal, in detention.
A spokesman for the State Police Command, Nafiu Abubakar, confirmed the incident in a statement on Saturday at Birnin Kebbi.
He said the suspect was detained after the stolen trailer rim report at the Division Police Headquarters in Jega on April 15.
The statement reads: “The deceased, Abubakar Auwal, was arrested as a suspect in this case.
“While the investigation is ongoing, Auwal reportedly fainted in detention in the morning on April 16 and was rushed to a public hospital in Jega.
“He was declared dead that night around 10:00

“The Commissioner of the State Police, Bello Sani, immediately ordered a wise investigation by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).
“The initial findings caused the detention of the three officers who were believed to be guilty of the incident. In addition, the Division Police Officer (DPO) from the affected station had issued a queue and re -employed.
“The Nigerian Police convinced the public about its unwavering commitment to uphold the highest ethical and professionalism standards.
“Some of the actions do not represent the values ​​of troops, and disciplinary steps are taken to ensure accountability.”
