The statement mentioned the cousin of Atiku Abubakar, Atiku Abubakar Isah [president of NANS]claiming that he was financially supported to arouse conflict among students.
According to the declaration, according to what was reported, secret meetings had occurred between Atiku Abubakar and his cousin, with the alleged objective of influencing students’ policy.

“Nans is not a tool for any political party or figure”, reads the declaration.
“We refuse any attempt to use our platforms for political games, in particular in view of future elections,” said the body.
