Nigeria U20 thrashed England to secure a place in the World Cup quarter-finals

Nigeria’s U-20 women’s team booked a place in the quarter-finals of the ongoing U-20 World Cup with an empathic 3-0 victory over England in the round of 16, reports OwnGoalNigeria.com.

Nigeria wasted no time taking the lead through Tosin Rafiu in the 8th minute and were shocked soon after when England were awarded a penalty but Christiana Uzoma saved it in the Nigerian goal, leaving the game 1-0 in Nigeria’s favor at half-time.

The Falconets came flying back from the break and two minutes later increased their lead through Seimeyeha Janet Akekoromowei, before Mary Mamudu secured the emphatic victory with a third in the 73rd minute.

They will face either Poland or Colombia for a place in the semi-final.
