Accusation of fraud: the court rejects Ganduje, another application that challenges jurisdiction

Judge Amina Adamu-Aliyu from the Kano State High Court on Tuesday rejected the application submitted by the National Congress of All Progressive Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, challenged the court jurisdiction to listen to the alleged bribery and abuse cases.

The state government has submitted an accusation of 11 causing, conspiracy, misuse and transfer of public funds that reached billions of Naira against Ganduje, his wife, Hafsat Umar and six others.

Other defendants were – Abubakar Bawuro, Umar Abdullahi Umar, Jibrilla Muhammad, Lamash Properties Limited, Safari Textiles Limited, and Lasage General Enterprises Limited.

The judge, in his decision, rejected the defendant’s initial objection and described them as incompetent.

He argues that the accusations submitted on May 13, 2024, against the defendants are competent to be tried.

The judge decided that the case had to continue to court without Ganduje and six others.

He also issued Summon to Lamash Properties Limited, and delayed this problem until July 30 and July 31 for trials.
