The state commissioner of Akwa Ibom for special duties and the port of Ibom Deep Sea, dr. Inibong, he resigned from the Cabinet of the UMO ENGLERY GOVERNER Following the governor’s defection at the Congress All Progressives (APC).

Governor Eno has formally announced his departure from the Democratic Party of the Peoples (PDP) during an event held at the Government Chamber, Uyo, Friday 6 June.

“After completing the tour of my consultation as a servant you have chosen to serve, I therefore decided to progressively move to the APC,” said Governor Eno during the event.

Before his announcement, the Governor had commissioned all the appointed politicians who are not willing to join him in the APC to resign from their places.

By acting in accordance with that directive, dr. Ememobong presented his resignation letter.

In the letter, he said: “Ipso facto, based on my personal belief, I will not be able to join the Congress of All Progressiveives. With the present I am more respectfully my resignation as honorable commissioner for special duties and Ibom Deep Sea Port and a member of the State Executive Council.”

He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve both under the Governor Eno and for his predecessor, Uommanuel, who appointed him commissioner for information.

Taking on social media to deepen his decision, Ememobong wrote: β€œToday I kept my resignation to the Governor in accordance with his directive that his nominated who are not willing to join him in the political journey to the APC should resign.

“Even if I cannot question or criticize the governor’s personal decision, I am unable to join that stay. My decision was born from my belief in politics with the principles and my longtime opposition to that political platform …”

He also stressed that his decision was made in good awareness, based on his values.

Dr. Ememobong, an expert public official and one of the most visible figures in the political structure of the PDP, becomes the first member of the high -ranking cabinet to publicly refuse the governor’s defection.

Although most of the government officials follow Eno at the APC, Ememobong’s resignation reveal a resentment among the people of the state on the move.
