Abuja (Core reporter) Nigerian senator, Jimoh Ibrahim who represents the senatorial district of Ondo in the tenth national assembly has praised the leadership of President Ahmed Tinubu in the last two years, in particular in terms of economic and security policies, as has also emphasized the importance of change and reform of national development.
In an interview with journalists shortly after the speech by President Tinubu at the National Joint Assembly on Thursday, the politician born in Ondo has criticized those who oppose the President Tinubu President, saying that they are unable to build alternative political platforms but are now trying to criticize the sentence to progressive Congress (APC) for the reception of the defectors.
Looking for his reaction to the president’s jab who will not help the opposition to build or put their home in order, Senator Ibrahim said:
“You cannot help them build your home. He cannot build another party. He cannot leave APC to build the Democratic Party (PDP) or the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
The political structure is fractured and people continue to drift in uncomfortable areas, “said the legislator, alluding to recent defections and internal political tensions.
He praised the President’s economic strategy, in particular the emphasis on investments in technology and safety.
“The president spoke of the canalization of funds in infrastructure, safety and technology. Safety will no longer depend exclusively on the workforce, but on technology. Last year he assigned about 5 trillion trillion to security, and now we have reached 1.8 million barrels per day in oil production. It is an important result,” he noticed.
On the execution of the economy, the legislator underlined a growth of the positive GDP of 3.6%, stating that the Nigerians should take note of these improvements.
When asked about the recent national honors assigned by the President, he described the trial as right and weighted.
“I have been honored twice by two different presidents. It is a real privilege. The people who are honored now deserve it. I have specifically supported to give national honors to key characters such as the former president of the Inc rather than appointing INSC buildings after him. By appointing the INC building after a person could raise problems, what about future Inec chairs such as Jaga or Yakuu?”
The legislator stressed that national honors should recognize authentic contributions, not to trigger a regional or political agitation.
On the storm of defections in progress in the country, he said: “A year ago, people said that no one would join the APC, but today people are distinguishing. Change is the only permanent thing in life. Anyone who refuses to change is like a dead person. People change marriages, religions, houses, why not political affiliations?”
He praised the President’s collaborative and liberal approach to Governance, describing it as crucial for democratic stability throughout Africa.
“The leadership of President Tinubu is gaining land among African leaders. His liberal cooperative style promotes democratic peace.”
