Abuja (Core reporter) The Federal Council of the territory of the Federal capital (Nuj) of Nigeria (FCT) in collaboration with the Nizamiye Hospital has provided free health checks for over 300 journalists in Abuja on Saturday 28 June 2025. This initiative aimed to promote the health holding and provide medical support to journalists in the federal territory.
The Nizamiye hospital brought a team of specialists, including a general surgeon, cardiologist, nephrologist, ophthalmologist and general practitioner doctors who have carried out their duties with the utmost professionalism and self -produced.

He underlined how important it is to take care of the health of journalists, saying: “We will always assume that our members are healthy. They come on the field every time and most of the time they barely have time to control themselves”.
This awareness is part of the wider plan of Nuj FCT ​​to increase health awareness and provide free medical support to journalists. Comrade Ike also said that the results of the controls would help to guide their efforts to obtain health insurance for members.

The doctors of the Nizamiye hospital carried out several checks in areas such as heart health, bones and joints, eyes and dental care.
Mohammed Abubakar, deputy director of the hospital, has previously confirmed the support of the hospital for the event and other similar health programs in the FCT.
