The Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, has formed a committee of 15 members to reactivate the main cement company, Nigercem, Nkalagu.
The governor announced the names of the committee members in the public function on Monday in Abakaliki.
Nigercem is the first native cement manufacturing company in the country.
Committee members are – Ny. Catherine Ogbu, Prof. Idike Adline, Mr. Iduma Igariwey, Prof. Ben Afang, Mr. Sunday Eze, and Senator Chris Nwankwo.
The others are Senator Ken Eze, Senator Antony Ani, Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi, Bpk. Elias Mbam, Senator Sonni Ogbuoji, Mr. Roy Umahi (San), Senator Obinna Ogba, Senator Silvanus Ngiji-Ngele, and Ben Okah’s head.

According to the Governor, the Committee must cooperate with investors and significant shareholders to complete the modalities for the start of the operation immediately at the company, which has experienced a commotion for decades.
He gave a two -week committee to submit his report on modality to provide solutions to the problem.
“Restoring the company is part of my campaign promise when I visit the area. I assured that the factory will be revived in my first term of office in the office,” Nwifuru said.
