ICPC arrested the Chairman of the Local Council of Lagos Island because of the alleged corruption

Independent Corruption Practices and Other Related Violation Commissions (ICPCs) have arrested the Chairperson of the Lagos Island Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Muibi Folawiyo, due to alleged corruption.

ICPC spokesman, Demola Bakare, confirmed the news to journalists on Wednesday.

He said Folawiyo was being investigated because of the alleged stealing and transfer of public fund resources for personal use.

The spokesman said: “He (Folawiyo) was arrested at the council secretariat in 42 broad street, Lagos, after repeatedly ignoring the invited invitation.

“He is currently in our detention. He was arrested by a team from the ICPC headquarters for the reasons mentioned above but since then administrative guarantees have been given. He is expected to report again today when the investigation continues.”
