The Governor of Katsina State, Umar Dikko Radda, has become the hits of the internet after a photo of him crying profusely during the burial of the former President of Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, on Tuesday, appeared on social media.

The deceased was laid in the garden of his residence after a funeral prayer was held in a helipad near his home but the most charming incident that attracted the attention of the Nigerians was Radda’s image that collapsed in an emotional wave and cried profusely when the former leader’s body was revealed into the grave.

Governor Katsina who many people saw as a child of the late Buhari was so touched that he betrayed his emotions and cried like several family members from the late President and others when the corpse was sent to the grave.

When he was able to unite himself, Radda paid a glowing tribute to his mentor, describing Buhari as “the embodiment of the aspirations of ordinary people.”

“I have lost the figure of the father’s footsteps that I have followed to be followed,” he said.

“From the days initially as a military leader to his transformative presidency, President Buhari never forgot his roots.

“He remained connected to the land of Katsina and the hearts of his people. His departure left an irreplaceable void in our collective awareness.

“When we lamented this unwilling loss, we also have to celebrate the lives that are well lived in services for humanity.

“The legacy of President Buhari to prioritize people will continue to inspire the generation of leaders,” he added.
