Newcastle United have entered the race to sign Nigerian youngster Zadok Yohanna, despite Brighton & Hove Albion already having an agreement with the player, according to transfer expert Florian Plettenberg in X.

Plettenberg reported that Newcastle’s interest in the 18-year-old winger is concrete and that the Premier League club is actively monitoring the situation. However, Brighton remain firmly in charge after agreeing a deal with Yohanna and are continuing direct negotiations with Swedish club AIK over a potential transfer.

The report added that Brighton have not backed down from the deal despite increasing competition from Newcastle and several other clubs pursuing the talented Nigerian. The Seagulls are said to be pushing to finalize a deal with AIK as they look to secure one of their priority transfer targets.

According to Plettenberg, a decision on Yohanna’s future is expected soon as both Premier League clubs are eager to sign the promising winger, who has become one of the most sought-after young Nigerian talents in Europe.
