The problem of nimet is aware of lightning storms, heavy rainfall in weather forecasts

The Nigerian Meteorology Agency (Nimet) has warned the Nigerians about extensive lightning storms and heavy rainfall throughout the country between Monday and Wednesday.

According to the three -day weather views released on Sunday in Abuja, Nimet expects storms and rain to influence various regions, with special advice for northern, central and south countries.

On Monday morning, lightning storms with rainfall are expected to be in some parts of Taraba, Adamawa, Kebbi, Borno, Yobe, Gombe, Bauchi, Sokoto, and the State of Kaduna. Other regions in the northern region will mostly remain bright with cloud spots.

By evening and night, lightning storms accompanied by rain are being anticipated in Adamawa, Taraba, Kebbi, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Katsina, Kano, Zamfara, Kaduna, and Yobe.

In the central region, cloudy sky will apply in the morning, with the prospect of light rain and storms in several parts of the Niger state. Then on that day, lightning storms were expected through the highlands, nasarawa, the territory of the Federal Capital (FCT), Kogi, Benue, and the state of Niger.

The southern region will experience a cloudy morning condition, with light rain estimated above IMO, Abia, Bayelsa, River, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom in the afternoon and evening.

For Tuesday, the sunny sky with cloud spots is estimated in the morning throughout the northern region, with the possibility of storms and rainfall being in Bauchi, Gombove, Yobe, and Jigawa.

Afternoon and evening hours will bring lightning storms with moderate rain to the states of Adamawa, Taraba, Kano, Katsina, and Kaduna.

Morning lightning storms are also likely to be in several parts of the highlands, benues and nasarawa in the central region. Then on that day, lightning storms were expected in the states of Niger, FCT, highlands, and nasarawa.

The southern region will start the day with cloudy sky, with light rain in Akwa Ibom and Cross River. Rain is expected to be later on Ondo, IMO, Enugu, Anambra, Abia, Edo, River, Cross River, Delta, Akwa Ibom, and Bayelsa.

Nimet predicts the bright sky with spots -clouds in northern countries on Wednesday, with the expected morning storm in Katsina, Kano, Bauchi, Sokoto, and Taraba. Lightning storms in the afternoon and evening with rainfall are most likely in Yobe, Jigawa, Kaduna, Bauchi, Borno, and Kebbi.

Cloudy sky is also estimated to cross the middle region in the morning, with the rain is expected then above the FCT, the highlands, Niger, and Kwara.

In the southern region, Enugu, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom may experience a morning shower, while the whole region remains cloudy. Then on that day, moderate to heavy rain was expected during Ebonyi, Abia, Edo, Ondo, Delta, Bayelsa, River, Cross River, and the state of Akwa Ibom.

Nimet urges the community to take the necessary precautions, warning that strong winds may overtake rainfall in several areas.

“Driving under heavy rain must be avoided. Decide the connection of electrical equipment from the socket, and avoid standing near high trees to prevent injury from falling branches,” suggested the agency.

The airline operator is also encouraged to get updated and specific weather information from Nimet for operational planning.

The body further advised citizens to continue to get information through routine updates available on their website, www.nimet.gov.ng.
