Chiamaka Nnadozie, has revealed the mentality guiding the Super Falcons as they prepare to defend their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations title at this month’s tournament in Morocco.
According to the Brighton goalkeeper, the current champions are fully focused on facing the defense of the title with determination, discipline and the mentality of facing each match as it comes.

“We will take it game by game because we cannot afford to stumble at any point due to overconfidence. We will focus squarely on the dual objective of getting a ticket to the FIFA World Cup and retaining the trophy,” Nnadozie said. soff.com.
“It’s interesting to have more teams in the final (16 now, up from 12). That will make the tournament more competitive, but we are calm and focused regardless of the number of teams in the final.”

Nnadozie in easy group
Nnadozie also played down suggestions that some groups are more difficult than others in the three-week, 16-team tournament, which will be held in Rabat and Casablanca.
“I don’t share the belief that any group is tougher than the others. Honestly, there are no minnows in Africa right now. There will be many surprises in this tournament, as the so-called small teams will be eager to show that they are not easy to do, so all teams deserve respect and should be taken seriously,” added the former Paris FC goalkeeper.
“We know what we are going to look for: the Cup and a ticket to the World Cup. It won’t be easy, but we are the Super Falcons of Nigeria!”
The Super Falcons have been drawn into Group C, where they will face Egypt, Zambia and tournament debutants Malawi in the competition, which runs from July 26 to August 16.
