Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has been invested as the patron of the Special Marshals of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the state.
He reaffirmed the State’s commitment to strengthening road safety governance and support for the force’s operations.
The investiture, performed by the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, at the Government House, Lokoja, also included the donation of 10 electric patrol motorcycles by the Kogi State Government to improve traffic management, enforcement activities and emergency response across the state, a statement signed by Osondu Ohaeri in Abuja on Monday.
Receiving the motorcycles on behalf of the NYSC, the Corps Marshal described the donation as a strategic investment that would significantly enhance its operational effectiveness in Kogi State, one of Nigeria’s busiest transport corridors.
Governor Ododo dedicated his investiture as Patron of Special Marshals FRSC to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, recognizing the President’s leadership, unwavering support for the corps and commitment to strengthening institutions mandated to protect the lives of Nigerians.
The Corps Marshal commended the governor for accepting the responsibility of serving as the patron of Special Marshals and for demonstrating practical commitment to road safety through the donation of electric patrol motorcycles.
He noted that the investiture further strengthens the partnership between the FRSC and the Kogi State Government in promoting safer roads, improving traffic management and reducing road accidents in the state.
