Tinubu Ardent Supporter of the Media – Idris

The minister of information and national orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is an ardent media supporter, which includes the crucial role of the media sector in the construction of the nation.

Idris declared Tuesday at the annual conference in the newspapers of the project, to the series of impacts and the prizes, held in Abuja.

According to the minister, the president, in addition to being very favorable to the media, has made him very clear from the beginning that he should proceed to carry out his work as a professional while he considers him appropriate.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is an ardent media supporter. He knows that the media are very crucial for the construction of the nation and told me severely that I should go and do my job in the best, being a professional myself.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not form in any way, or form, will suffocate or hinder the progress or work of the media in this country. But all the professionals of the US media must meet to travel this delicate path and ensure that the company is held together while also keeps the leaders and government on behalf”, said the minister.

He also enriched the critical role of the media in the construction of the nation, underlining that the responsibility to feed democracy in Nigeria is based on the media.

“In doing that job, you have a huge responsibility to take into account the government and the leaders, but also while you do it, you must also know that because of your position of view and the critical role you play, you can also help, if you don’t take care, your actions can be harmful to society.

He observed that, despite the challenges within the ecosystem of information, it remains a radius of hope, while the media continue to thrive and demonstrate resilience.

Idris reiterated that President Tinubu remains a champion engaged in freedom of the press and would never have tried to suffocate the media in any way.

The minister also clarified that he is no longer the president of the newspaper newspapers, a position that has given up on his appointment.
