FCT: Wike Create Committees on sales of FG accommodation, plots of the designated park

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Nyesom Wike, was a control committee on the sales of federal government houses in the FCT and the title of plots of the designated park and the management of the allied lands.

The director of the administration of the FCT territory, Chijioke Nwankwoeze, declared this while inaugurating the control committees in his office.
He said that the committees were inaugurated to implement ministerial directives, following the discovery of serious irregularities and infringements in the sale of houses of the federal government in the FCT.

The director added that the aforementioned irregularities and the broken hamlets include the deviation from the approval mandate, improper checks, late payments, inadequate documents, poor interdepartmental coordination and other specific infringements.

He reiterated that the Minister of FCT, Wike, had approved the establishment of the committees with directives, mandates and clear terms to ensure that all the processes are completed within a reasonable period of time.

Nwankwoeze, added that the control team on the sales of federal government’s homes should restore order, responsibility and transparency in line with the original framework of monetization and sales policy of 2003-2005 of the Federal Government.

He also stated that the control team on the Titling of Park of the designated park is to align the activities of the Department of Parks and Recreational Activities with the current agricultural reform policies of the FCT administration.

The director said that the establishment of the control committees was a bold and irreversible step towards the restoration of mental health and public trust in the FCTA.

He added that the government has deployed machinery to rest all the persistent issues that surround the sales of federal government houses and has designated the park plots in the area.
