Diesel prices fell N24.36 in July – NBS

The National Statistics Bureau (NBS) said on Friday that the retail price of diesel averaged to N1.789.45 in July.

This figure is N24.36 or 1.34 percent lower than N1,813.81 for products in June.

NBS revealed this in the Diesel price watch for July, released in Abuja.

The report reads: “In years-to-year, prices rose 29.72 percent of N1,379.48 per liter recorded in July 2024.”

In the country’s profile analysis, the agency added that the highest average diesel price in July was recorded at the Benue in N2.341.46 per liter, followed by Adamawa in N2.163.88 and the highlands in N2,029.71.

The lowest price is recorded at Ondo State at N1.465.71 per liter, followed by Zamfara at N1.470.35, and Gombe State at N1.485.00.

“Analysis by the zone shows that the south-south has the highest price of N1.941.98 per liter, while the southwest records the lowest price at N1.619.06,” he said.
