Gombe 2027: Best bet of the PDP

All those who followed the recent episodes of the Crusade of Omoyel Sowore for good government must have gone through the result of his investigation into the government of the State of Gombe under the governor inuwa Yahaya. To borrow some Americanism, Sowore launched his lens on Gombe and what he met his gaze were the worms; Large and giant financial worms that suck the blood of the people of the State of Gombe.

From the revelations now made public, now everyone can see that the problem with Gombe under Inuwa Yahaya is simple.

The problem is the abandonment of government infrastructures already provided and this is unequivocally equivalent to the abandonment of governance. To put it in a clearer perspective, Sowore’s revelations have shown that the previous governments of Gombe made their best to provide critical infrastructures including human capital for the people of the State, nicknamed the jewel of Savannah. And guess what? These past administrations were mainly of the Democratic Party of the peoples (PDP).

Now, while Sowore has rightly shown to the Nigerians that Governor Yahaya is responsible for the rot in Gombe, I want to affirm it emphatically here that the PDP, consciously or unconsciously, has also facilitated this incorrect incorrect. I heard you say how? Come with me in memory, after which I am sure you will understand the role of PDP in the Inuwa mess.

Firstly, the elections that brought Inuwa Yahaya in 2019. It is known that most of the interested parties of the PDP were forced to leave the party or work against his flag fir of the Governorate, Senator Bayero Nafada, and this was due to the poor way of the primary elections conducted conducted who produced a nafada who had just returned to the party from the party.

The election was, in order not to say more, embarrassing, coming from the then PDP in power in the state, above all because it allowed APC to transform the state that is traditionally a stronghold of the PDP on the APC with even Dankwambo, a governor who came out at that moment, losing his senatorial offer in the process.

Fast ahead of 2023 and the story turned in the lead. At this point, the APC had been weakened by the fight for control between Yahaya and the strong man of the gombe policy, Danjuma Goje. Although Goje did not leave the APC for reasons of principle, her relationship with Yahaya had become so fractured that everyone knew that she could also turn her shoulders against the APC keeping the governor’s seat in Gombe. It was so bad that the Goje -formed government not only stopped betraying it, but it has reached to work feverish to make sure he did not return to the Senate. Goje is still senator today because his goodwill and political capital have made him easy to overwhelm the internal and external forces Hell-Bent to undress him with his political powers, to win his elections even without making a campaign for a single day, making him the only Senator APC survived in 2023.

In fact, the results of the 2023 elections confirmed that the Goje factor was still banking, since the APC has lost almost all parliamentary and presidential elections against the PDP. In particular, the PDP recovered two senator seats with North tires that went from the former governor Ibrahim Hassan Darkwambo and Gombe to the south to Anthony Siyako Yaro. Only Central Gombe has been maintained by Goje of the APC despite not going out to the countryside. In fact, this is further proof of Goje’s political acceptance in the state.

For the House of Representatives, the PDP swept away five of the six seats: Ali Isa (Balanga/Billiri), Inuwa Garba (Yamaltu/Deba), Yaya Bauchi Tongo (Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye), El-Rasheed Abdullahi (Dukku/Nafada) and Shehu Obshu/Shongom) Bello) (Akko) for the APC.

With that trend, it would have been thought that it was the perfect time for the PDP to finish the job and return rubber completely to the party that includes its people and had constantly delivered. Unfortunately, the PDP has had other ideas and since then that decision has been expensive.

But how did the PDP see what is clearly in front of them? Well, I cannot say for sure now, whether it is an expensive error of judgment or a simple internal sabotage, but the choice of the PDP of Flagbearer in the elections of the Governorate of 2023 was, in fact, what Yahaya returned to the Gamberemento House. The way the party has delivered its tour of someone who can be better described as a political wayfarer, a man whose destabilizing tendencies are legendary, remains disconcerting. Now see why did I say the PDP that returned the power to Yahaya? This is a office governor who has lost his department in the parliamentary and presidential elections despite his position enhanced as president of the Northern Governors forum and President of the Council of the APC presidential campaign for the North-East. What more tests should someone who had presented PDP a hallbound candidate from Inuwa Yahaya Ya Rine Rana Faduwa?

Well, 2027 presents another golden opportunity for the PDP. It presents the possibility of correcting the errors of 2023 by putting an appropriate government candidate on the field. Someone who has a heart to the heart. Someone who has friends in all political blocks and who has fought to ensure that the relevance of the PDP never dodges. Someone who will not beat themselves in the so -called coalition to the first possibility despite having flying the party flag in 2023. Yes, the PDP must now look beyond its survival to the survival of the state of tires.

And as someone who followed political developments in our dear state from the return of democracy in 1999, I can say without any doubt that that candidate is Abdulkadir Hamma Saleh! Hamsal, as he is called with affection, appears all the boxes: a party loyalty that is engaged in the survival of the party, has never formed an internal cabal within the party despite the obvious evidence of how the party had treated it and that continued to remain faithful and persecuted in ensuring that the PDP remains afloat.

It is known, that Hamsal sacrificed his aspiration to be in the Senate in 2019 to the party leader, Senator Dankwambo, and it is known that if he had been the wayfarer who bought the shape of the Senate, he could have been a total clash with the leader.

Through Gombe, Hamsal is the only politician whose acceptance crosses the party lines. It is that practicable option that can sit with any politician in the state of tires, regardless of political affiliation, and forge alliances for the good of the state and are the hard workers.

Fortunately, in its characteristic Stoia, he resisted all the pleas of abandoning the ship and joining the Coalition field in the Adc for despair, the PDP erroneously delivered his ticket in 2023, left the APC after losing against Yahaya and now he has moved to the coalition with even his associates who criticize Dankwambo. But Hamsal even when there were obvious inconvenience in the PDP, he never insulted anyone.

Hamsal is, for everyone in Gombe politics, that golden Marshmallow that dissolves hearts, the one ready to support progress, growth and sustainable development. He is the only man who I am confident can reverse Yahaya’s evil, who has dragged tires in the limelight of the media for all the wrong reasons.

So, while we approach 2027, the choice is, once again, PDP. Would they do as before putting friends of the good weather in the field or being with a proven name? I believe that the party should be adequately guided to understand the full branches of this choice. The PDP must know that this choice, although domiciled within the party, must be established for the people of Gombe who has been tormented, noticed and harassed by today’s contempt and who now want the return of the party that has been suitable for their progress. All eyes will be on the PDP to see if it will bring the side of the people or open the bust to the APC to power to open fire, fully knowing the implications of doing it. As always, only time will say it.
