Galaxy Backbone promises improved digital services and unveils Lagos data center
Abuja (Core Reporters) — Galaxy Backbone Limited (GBB) has reaffirmed its commitment to improving customer experience and service delivery, announcing a new data center facility in Lagos to strengthen data sovereignty and improve the resilience of its digital infrastructure.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Galaxy Backbone, Prof. Ibrahim Adeyanju, disclosed this during a breakfast meeting held on Friday, October 9, 2026, to commemorate Customer Service Week 2026 with the theme “Going the Extra Mile”.
Adeyanju said the new structure will expand the organisation’s capacity to meet the growing digital needs of customers, strengthen trust in its services and support Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda.
He described customers as central to the organization’s operations and growth, noting that their expectations, feedback and trust continued to shape his commitment to service excellence.
According to him, going the extra mile involves more than just providing digital infrastructure, as it also requires quick and effective support, particularly when technical challenges arise.
It recognized the contributions of the organisation’s engineers, operations teams and customer-facing staff, who work beyond routine expectations to resolve technical issues, maintain service standards and address customer concerns.
GBB’s CEO said customer engagement over the past three years has provided valuable insights into service gaps, enabling the organization to improve operational processes and strengthen service quality.
He noted that public sector institutions depended on Galaxy Backbone’s critical digital infrastructure to support government operations, while private sector partners continued to challenge the organization to innovate and respond to evolving needs.
Adeyanju urged customers and partners to sustain constructive engagement with the organisation, stressing that honest feedback remains essential to identify gaps, drive innovation and improve service delivery.
He assured stakeholders that customer satisfaction will remain a priority even beyond the annual celebration.
Earlier, the welcome speech by the Executive Director, Customer Centricity and Marketing, Olusegun Olulade, was delivered on his behalf by the Group Human Resources Manager, Olugbenga Omoniyi.
Olulade described customer centricity as a core organizational value rather than simply a theme for the annual celebration, arguing that technology, infrastructure and digital solutions could only deliver meaningful results when they addressed real challenges and created value for users.
He highlighted GovMail, 1Gov Cloud and the Government Service Portal (GSP) as key platforms through which Galaxy Backbone supports Nigeria’s digital sovereignty, secure management of government digital assets and improved public service delivery.
“Ultimately, customer centricity doesn’t just mean saying the customer matters, but more importantly, it means making decisions every day that demonstrate that customers really matter,” he said.
The breakfast engagement brought together customers and partners to share experiences, raise concerns, discuss challenges in service delivery and recommend practical measures to improve customer satisfaction.
The interactive session highlighted the importance of collaboration and open communication in strengthening relationships and ensuring that services respond effectively to the changing needs of stakeholders.
