The Democratic People’s Party (PDP) on Tuesday asked the Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uuduaghan, to ignore the steps of the National Assembly to stop him to resume in parliament.
The MPs were suspended for six months by the Senate leadership on March 6 for violating the Red Room rules.
Akpoti-Uduaghan, on August 28, told the National Assembly Officer, Yahaya Danzaria, about his intention to continue the legislative task on September 4.
He also demanded direct access to his office in the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.
However, the National Assembly Officer, in a reply dated September 4, rejected the request because the suspension of Akpoti-Usuaghan began to take effect on March 6.
He added that the senator was still suspended while waiting for the decision by the appeal court.
However, the Secretary of the PDP National Publicity, Debo Oologunagba, in a statement on Tuesday told Senator to prepare for the start of the National Assembly.
He stressed that the direction of parliament was “very provocative and was a clear danger for democracy and the stability of the country.

The statement reads: “This also came as part of the association which was deployed strongly by the Senate controlled by APC and the federal government to strangle the opposition, who further confirmed the totalitarianism that crept in our country under the APC government.
“The action reported by the Clerk of the National Assembly against the Akpoti-Uuduaghan senator further brought alleged attacks on the rights of women and ongoing efforts to withstand their voices, as witnessed in various accusations of harassment of women aimed at the current Senator President, Senator Godwill Akpabio, for years.
“The extreme persecution of the six-month suspension is unfairly imposed on the Akpoti-Uuduaghan senator, contrary to the rules of the senate, more than enough, and PDP stands with the central kogi and all Nigerians who intend well in constraints this non-completed new attack.
