Ogba has regretted that in case of this nature, young people who are often the executioners do not listen to the instructions of the elderly, the interested parties and even traditional sovereigns.

Narrant his ordeal, a victim’s victim Nwamaka, whose husband has been banned for alleged witchcraft activities by the NGbo community, said: “My marriage to my husband Emmanuel Ori has been for nine years now. Since he is a polygamous family, there have been many problems. It is from one problem to another.

“This year, one of his brothers got sick and died later. My brother in -laws said that my husband was the one who killed the man, who diabolically caused his death. My husband told his brothers who was innocent, he did not kill the man and insisted on the fact that he was responsible for his death.

“They mobilized the inhabitants of the villages who beat him towards death and inflicted serious injuries on him. They banned him from the community and also banned me and our children of the community. They demolished my husband’s houses and destroyed every property he has. I have no father, I don’t have nobody. I brought my children where I was born.

“A few weeks ago, I went to our farm instead of my husband to collect the crops and the inhabitants of the village they heard about it, they came there and beat me to amazement. They collected all the crops in our four farms and destroyed the farms. They told me to our traditional sovereign, but they refused to resist her directives. They said they want to go and look for what the brother of my husband killed.

“Since then, my husband has disappeared in an unknown destination, abandoning me and children to our destiny. We do not have what we are eating now, our traditional sovereign has been the one who fed to us since they collected all our crops and destroyed our farms. They destroyed our economic trees, domestic objects and any other properties.

“I haven’t seen my husband since they banned him. I haven’t heard of him from exile and he hasn’t had a phone for contact. My children have left school since they banned my husband. I want my husband to be brought back to her place. I want her houses to be rebuilt because they destroyed our homes, we no longer have the house.”

Another victim, Mr. Thomas Eze di Ebele, the community of Umuoguduakpu, said: “I was accused of witchcraft by a member of our community. He said that I buried the spells in my land and I said no, I did not do such a thing that made me such a harmless.

“I told him that I can no longer endure it, that I am referring it to our traditional sovereign and I went to report it to the traditional sovereign. The man went and informed the members of our community. The members of our community said that I would have to leave the community. They beat me blue, black more like a thief and banned me.”

Another victim nnenna donatus -chukwu who narrates his ordeal, said that “I was behind my house in the village of the community of Mebiekpa Amaeke Okposi in the area of ​​the local government of Ohaozara in the state of Ebonyi, where I was elaborating some palm fruits in sight in Palm Oil on February 21 when a multitude of young people invaded our compound, I started chatting with war songs.

He continued: “After some time, I was brought by our traditional sovereign who blamed the young people for having beat me and destroying my personal effects.

After the oath, they banned us from the community until after our next new festival, if we are still alive.”
