Eneramo dies suddenly during routine training in Kaduna

Former Super Eagles striker Michael Eneramo has reportedly died after collapsing during a training session in Kaduna on Friday morning.

The former Lobi Stars, Espérance of Tunisia and Beşiktaş striker reportedly collapsed while taking part in a routine kick on the field of a primary school in Ungwan Yelwa, an area close to his residence.

According to reports from Owngoal.ng. “In the early hours of this morning he was fine and completed the first 45 minutes, but he collapsed five minutes into the second half of the kickabout and died before he could be taken to hospital.”

Eneramo, who retired from professional football in 2018, enjoyed a productive career playing for Esperance and USM Alger in Tunisia and Turkey with Beşiktaş, Sivasspor, Manisaspor, İstanbul Başakşehir and Karabükspor.

At international level, he debuted for Nigeria against Tunisia, scoring in a 2–2 draw during the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on 6 September 2009. He went on to earn 10 caps for the Super Eagles, scoring three goals.
