Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the State of Ondo urged the people of Ekiti to re -elect the governor Biodun Oyebanji for a second term in office.

This, he said, would ensure the continuity of policies and programs oriented to people who have transformed Ekiti over the past three years.

Gov Aiyedatiwa made the call on Friday during the funeral ceremony of the chief Mathew Okunola, father of justice Oyebisi Omoleye of the Court of Appeal, held in the Anglican Church of San Paolo, Ikole Ekiti.

Aiyedatiwa, who described Oyebanji as a reliable leader, said that a second mandate would start the governor the opportunity to deepen the programs oriented to the people who had touched life throughout the state.

He urged the people of Ekiti inside and outside the state to intensify prayers for the progress and development of the state below Oyebanji until 2030.

“Please continue to support Oyebanji because he has performed excellently and if he has another possibility, he will do more.

“This is our work and we can’t do it alone, that’s why I’m requiring all your support.

“The things we are doing are not what can happen within a month, it will take some time, everyone wants it to reach us immediately and it is not possible. Be patient with us,” said Ayedatiwa.

While commissioning the Omoleye justice and his family to the death of their patriarch, the governor described the deceased as a leader of the very respected community.

He prayed for the rest of the soul of the deceased and urged the family to support his inheritance of integrity and service.

“The deceased has done well and that’s why we see everyone here today.

“Those of us live right now, we do well in any position we take care, we leave the best right like my brother Oyebanji, is putting at the best and I am also doing my best in my state,” said the governor.

Previously, Oyebanji described the deceased as a blazer on the path and a result on several fronts.

He said that the deceased Okunola would be remembered for his dedication to the development of the community and positive influence on the traditional Council, on the Church and the Ikole company, where he served with distinction in different abilities.

Oyebanji, although commissioning with the deceased’s family, urged them to console in the fact that the deceased has lived a satisfied life that had a impact on the life of many.

In his homily, the vicar responsible for the Anglican Church of San Sila, Homuo Ekiti, Ven. Ajao Mathew, described the deceased Okunola as a true lover of God and his work.

He said that Okunola lived his life in the service of the Church and humanity.

The news agency of Nigeria (Nan) reports that the burial ceremony took part in the whole country.
