A Federal Court sitting in Enugu has retained the University of Lagos (Unilag), the University of Obafemi Awolowo (OAU) and the joint commission for admissions and registration (Jamb) to release or approve admission lists for the academic session of 2025/2026, pending the hearing of a substantial motion before.

The provisional order, granted by justice to Sogun-Bello, followed a former motorcycle presented by five candidates -ucas of Chibuzor, Cyteinye Taiwo Ayomide, Adeleke John Samuel, Monsurat Aliyat Aduragbemi and Bassey Daniel NSikak-for an entity that was known about 2025 post-autheme.

In the case marked with FHC/EN/CS/278/2025, the applicants, through their consultant, Ek Nnadi (Esq.), Alleged irregularities and unfair care in the post-authem conduct and urged the court to stop the admission process.

In his sentence dated 30 September 2025, the judge Sogun-Bello ordered the interviewees-unilates, Oau and Jamb-Non to issue, approve, load or finalize any admission list until the notice motion is listened to and determined.

The Court also ordered all parties to maintain the status quo ante bellum on the admission issues for the 2025/2026 session, underlining that a “verifiable and chopped question” had been raised, which guaranteed the hearing from both sides before further passages were taken.

The case was updated to October 28, 2025, for hearing.
