Katung distributes rice to Muslim communities in southern Kaduna

Senator Sunday Marshall Katung, representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, has distributed bags of rice to Muslim communities in the eight local government areas of the district as part of palliative support for Ramadan.

The items were handed over to representatives of the LGAs during a brief ceremony, at which he spoke on behalf of the Senator’s Special Adviser on Islamic Affairs, Ilyasu Musa.

Musa said the gesture is part of Senator Katung’s practice of supporting voters during major religious periods to ease economic pressure, especially during fasting and before Sallah celebrations. He noted that the senator had similarly extended support to Christian communities during Christmas last December, reflecting his inclusive leadership approach.

“This support is aimed at assisting families, especially those in need and vulnerable, during this important period,” Musa said, urging committee representatives to ensure equitable distribution.

The beneficiaries described the intervention as timely and praised the senator for his commitment to the well-being of the people.
