Police arrest suspected kidnappers, cult in Kwara

Police agents in Kwara have arrested suspected kidnappers and cultists in the state.

They also found guns and other items throughout the state.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Adekunle Ojo, disclosed this at a press conference on Friday in Ilorin.

Ojo said the operation was intelligence-driven and carried out in collaboration with other security agencies to dismantle criminal networks in the state.

The CP said: “Our priority is to protect lives and property. This success reflects our resolve to restore public safety and reassure Kwara residents of their safety.”

He added that the command also arrested a 15-year-old suspect, Gobri Yusuf, for allegedly killing his housemate with household items in Erin-Ile.

According to him, before the incident, the suspect had tried to poison the victim, allegedly because he was annoyed.

Ojo said the suspect had been detained by the police and would be charged to court after the investigation was completed.
