North Korea has fired missiles into the sea in response to United States military drills.
About 10 ballistic missiles were fired at close range Pyongyang international airport on Saturday in a show of force following joint military exercises between the US and South Korea.
They flew about 220 miles before landing in the Sea of Japan, South Korea said the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
This happened just a few hours after South Korean Prime Minister Kim Min-seok met with the President Donald Trump in Washington.
South Korea has since stepped up its surveillance in response.
And experts fear Saturday’s launch could undermine diplomatic efforts by both sides.
The US and South Korea currently participate Freedom Shield, an 11-day joint military exercise held between the two sides every March.

North Korea has long described it as an invasion rehearsal and often cited it as a pretext for carrying out weapons tests.
Just the leader last Tuesday belongs to Kim Jong Un Her sister criticized Washington and Seoul for continuing their exercises during a period of global uncertainty.

Kim Yo Jong said it undermines regional stability at a time when the global security structure is “rapidly collapsing and wars are breaking out in various parts of the world due to the reckless and outrageous actions of international criminals.”
In recent months, it has hardened its stance against Seoul and is now urging Washington to drop demands for denuclearization as a precondition for talks.
And just this week Kim was pictured with her teenage daughter as the country conducted missile tests from a naval destroyer.

This comes amid speculation that the US plans to relocate several missile defense systems to the country as part of its efforts intensifying the war with Iran.
But South Korea was quick to emphasize that this would not affect its defense posture towards its northern neighbor.
