Stakeholders from the Cross River North Senatorial District residing in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Cross River State Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, and Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe for re-election in the 2027 general elections.

The group, comprising leaders from across political divides, professionals and community leaders, made the statement during a rally of support held in Abuja on Saturday.

Core Reporters report that stakeholders said their decision followed a review of the trajectory of governance under the leadership of the President, governor and senator, particularly in the context of the evolving national political landscape.

In a statement, presented by the Liaison Officer to the Governor of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Cynthia Nkasi, the stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to the leadership of the three political figures and encouraged them to continue their service beyond 2027.

According to stakeholders, Senator Jarigbe’s political alignment with the All Progressives Congress (APC) has positioned the Northern Senatorial District for greater opportunities and benefits from both the state and federal governments.

They commended the Senator for what they described as “exceptional, broad and quality representation”, noting that his efforts complement Governor Otu’s “People First” agenda in the state.

The group also recognized the various projects the Senator facilitated and completed in communities across the Northern Senatorial District.

They also lauded his contribution to youth education and empowerment, citing initiatives such as placement of indigenous people of Cross River North in government institutions, facilitation of overseas scholarships and Jari Bursary Scheme for students.

Stakeholders added that Senator Jarigbe’s tenure has increased the political visibility and recognition of the district nationally.

“In view of the above, we stakeholders of Cross River North residing in Abuja encourage Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe to remain focused on fulfilling his mandate and seek re-election so that he can continue to provide quality representation to the people,” the statement said.

The group also expressed satisfaction with the development progress recorded under the administration of Governor Otu, particularly efforts to complete projects in the Northern Senatorial District initiated by previous administrations.

They equally praised the economic reforms introduced by the APC-led federal government under President Tinubu.

As a result, the stakeholders unanimously endorsed Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe for another term in the Senate, Governor Bassey Otu for a second term and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election in 2027.
