It was a carnival of colors and joy on Saturday in Ikwuano, Umuahia Local Government Area of Abia State, as veteran sports journalist, Raymond Akparhuere, tied the knot with Onyeyechi Okeiyi in a traditional wedding ceremony that attracted families, friends and well-wishers from Delta and Abia states.
The ceremony brought both families together in a vibrant display of culture and festivity.
Guests from the local community, members and admirers gathered at Ukiyi Complex, Umuahia, to witness the joyous occasion.
In keeping with tradition, the bride’s parents, Mr and Mrs Chukwuemeka Okeiyi, formally handed over their daughter to the groom, a symbolic moment which drew applause and admiration from those present.
In an emotional comment, the bride’s elder brother, Emeka Okeiyi, a former footballer, expressed gratitude to God for the successful union and prayed for a life full of love, peace and prosperity for the couple.
The event also attracted prominent personalities from the sports community, including Kennedy Onwunali, Secretary, Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Southeast Zone, along with other stakeholders and football enthusiasts across the region.
The colorful celebration reflected a rich blend of tradition, unity and community spirit, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of Raymond Akparhuere and Onyeyechi Okeiyi.
