Troops of the 12th Brigade in Kogi have killed a suspected terrorist and arrested a logistics courier in the state.
The Nigerian Army in an operational report made available to journalists on Monday in Abuja revealed that the troops, acting on credible intelligence, intensified checkpoints and clearance operations across Lokoja Local Government area of the state.
It said troops deployed along the Jamata–Owara axis intercepted and arrested a suspected terrorist logistics courier carrying supplies on a motorbike.
According to the military, a search of the suspect led to the discovery of a modified fuel tank designed to hide ammunition, as well as three cellphones and purchase receipts.

”Further exploitation of intelligence information obtained from the suspect led troops to the suspected logistics exchange point.
”During the encounter, troops made contact with the fleeing terrorists, neutralizing one terrorist while the other escaped with a gunshot wound.
“Items recovered at the scene included a motorbike, a pump belt with cartridges, charms, drinks, a mobile phone, a side bag and an amount of ₦20,000 in cash,” the report said.
The army also revealed that troops in a separate operation on the same day arrested another suspected terrorist in Bakumba community in Lokoja LGA.
