Kwara 2027: NOA DG supports former APC president Bolarinwa

The Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, has appealed to aspiring governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State to support and work together for former party president Dr. Basir Omolaja Bolarinwa (BOB) to become the next governor of the state in May 2027.

In a statement personally signed by Mallam Issa-Onilu, he described Dr Bolarinwa as “a man who I believe truly deserves to be the next governor of Kwara State. Aspirants and party members across the state, let us work together for him.”

Issa-Onilu, who put aside his governorship ambition to support Dr Bolarinwa, recalled that: “In recent months, we have witnessed a surge of political activity as many of us have come forward to vie for the governorship of our dear party.

“I am sincerely thrilled by the impressive array of political leaders who have expressed interest, showing a powerful coalition of knowledgeable individuals ready to advance the progress we have achieved over the past seven years.”

Issa-Onilu also lauded the maturity of each aspirant but said it was time for all party members to support Bolarinwa.

“I want to commend the maturity demonstrated by each governorship aspirant throughout this process. With only one ticket available, we must rally to support the one who was destined for this. We must approach this with a spirit of unity and faith, trusting that this is God’s will. Our shared sense of duty and commitment to the well-being of our State must now guide our actions.

“While I throw my weight behind the APC for the State President Dr Basir Omolaja Bolarinwa (BOB), I urge all aspirants and members of the party across the State to let us work together. He is a man who I believe truly deserves it,” he said.

As the APC primaries approach, Issa-Onilu urged all national and state assembly aspirants and their supporters to show understanding and offer unwavering commitment to the party.

”The journey to build on the successes of the Otoge Revolution has just begun. It is crucial to fully engage in this collective project, as is expected of every dedicated member of the APC. I express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone for the extraordinary work done so far. While much remains to be done, let’s prepare for the challenges ahead. We achieved this in 2019 and 2023 and I am confident that we can achieve victory once again in 2027,” said Issa-Onilu.
