NSCDC arrested 20 foreigners in Kano

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has arrested 20 foreign nationals in Kano State.

The foreigner was arrested in Danbare area of ​​Kumbotso Local Government Area of ​​the state.

The NSCDC Commander in the state, Mohammed Hassan-Agalama, disclosed this at a press conference on Tuesday in Kano.

He said the suspects, who hail from Sudan, Chad and other neighboring countries, were arrested based on credible intelligence information and a coordinated operation by NSCDC agents.

He said: “The suspects include one person from Cameroon, one person from Niger, 12 people from Sudan and six people from Chad.”

Hassan-Agalama said the suspects were unable to provide valid travel or identification documents, raising concerns about how they entered the country and their activities in the state.

He added that the evidence seized from the suspects included 10 Android phones.

“The Corps is currently profiling and investigating the suspects to determine their mission and possible links to unlawful activities.

“Relevant agencies have been duly notified, and necessary steps have been taken in accordance with existing laws,” he said.

The commander reiterated NSCDC’s commitment to safeguarding critical national assets and maintaining internal security.
