Gunmen kill women, girls in Ondo

Gunmen on Thursday killed a woman and her daughter in a kidnapping incident at a poultry farm in Igushi, Akure North Local Government Area of ​​Ondo State.

The five-member gang stormed the farm, killing the poultry farm owner and his daughter who were working with someone else.

Spokesman of the state police command, Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed the incident to journalists on Friday in Akure.

He said two people were rescued alive at the scene.

“The Police Command in Ondo State strongly condemns the heinous violent incident in Igushin via Ala, Akure, which led to the tragic loss of two innocent lives.

“While the two victims were rescued through swift and coordinated operations, the command expressed deep sorrow at the unfortunate deaths recorded.

“The command assures the public that adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of lives and property while efforts continue to arrest the perpetrators,” the spokesperson said.
