Olamide details the unsettling experience that still shakes his confidence on stage

Nigerian rap heavyweight Olamide, aka ‘Badoo,’ has opened up about a side of fame fans rarely see—the nervousness that washes over him before he goes on stage to perform.

In a candid chat with popular YouTuber Korty EO, the YBNL boss admitted that performing live is still filled with waves of anxiety, despite years of experience and huge success in the industry.

According to Olamide, this tension did not occur randomly. This stems from a series of unsettling encounters he faced while performing on the show over the years.

He recalled times when overzealous fans suddenly barged into his space, and some people tried to take personal items like his chain or hat in the middle of a show.

“I get nervous every time I go on stage. I’ve had too many crazy experiences performing. Someone out of nowhere just comes and takes your chain or your hat, you don’t even know what to expect,” he said.

The rapper described these incidents as intense and unpredictable, and noted that they gradually shaped the way he approached live performances and interacting with audiences.

Even with his status as one of Nigeria’s top goalscorers, Olamide insists that the experience left a lasting impact, making him more careful and mentally anxious whenever he faces a crowd.
