Speaking on the future of the sport, Adamu emphasized that while Nigerian boxing is growing, there is still a significant gap compared to world powers.

“We want world champions,” he said.

According to him, one of the biggest challenges remains the financial disparity between Nigerian fighters and elite boxers like Anthony Joshua.

“The income gap is huge,” he implied.

Adamu emphasized the need to build a structured system that supports fighters from the grassroots to the elite level, ensuring that they are trained, promoted and rewarded appropriately.

“We need a proper system,” he said.

He also highlighted the importance of hosting major boxing events in Nigeria, which would not only boost the sport locally but also attract international attention.

“We want big fights here,” he added.

For Adamu, the goal is to elevate Nigerian boxing to a level where fighters can compete globally while building sustainable careers.

“We are on the right path,” he stressed.

Despite existing challenges, he remains optimistic about the future, pointing to growing interest and emerging talent as signs of progress.

“It’s growing,” he said.

As the sport continues to develop, stakeholders will look to turn ambition into reality.

For Adamu, the message is clear.

Build the system.

Support the fighters.

And aim for the top.

Because in boxing greatness is not given, it is built.
