Tinubu’s reforms saved Nigeria from economic collapse – YAYI

…Look for Arewa support for APC before 2027

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as YAYI, has said economic reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu have saved Nigeria from economic collapse and laid the foundation for long-term growth.

Adeola made this assertion on Tuesday while addressing Arewa community leaders and stakeholders of the 20 local government areas of Ogun State during a courtesy visit to his constituency office in Ilaro where the group pledged to support his governorship ambitions.

According to a statement, the senator commended Tinubu for what he described as courageous leadership in implementing reforms, despite the economic hardships experienced by many Nigerians.

He identified the removal of fuel subsidies, deregulation of the downstream oil sector and unification of the foreign exchange market as key policies that stabilized the economy and restored investor confidence.

Adeola said the reforms address long-standing structural challenges that have slowed Nigeria’s economic development for decades.

“Mr. President has taken difficult but necessary decisions to save Nigeria’s economy. The removal of fuel subsidies and harmonization of the foreign exchange market were bold reforms that saved the country from the brink of economic collapse and positioned it for sustainable development,” he said.

The senator also recognized that the federal government’s monetary and fiscal reforms have strengthened the country’s economic recovery and provided a framework for long-term fiscal stability.

While acknowledging that the policies initially imposed hardships on Nigerians, Adeola insisted that they were necessary to rebuild the economy and ensure future prosperity.

“These reforms brought about a temporary inconvenience, but they were necessary to truly heal the economy. Today we are starting to see the positive impact of these policies, and they remain Nigeria’s saving grace,” he added.

He urged members of the Arewa community to sustain their support for the Tinubu administration, saying continued support for the government’s reform agenda would help consolidate the gains already achieved.

Adeola also called on the community to work towards the victory of the APC in the 2027 general elections at both the federal and state levels, expressing confidence that continuity in governance will accelerate national development.
