Former Denmark U21 midfielder downplays move to Super Eagles

The agent of former Danish Under-21 midfielder Tochukwu Chukwuani says there is no truth to reports that his client has agreed to switch his international future to Nigeria, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

A teammate of Emmanuel Fernandez at Scottish side Rangers, the 23-year-old is reported to be open to the idea of emulating his teammate by switching from Denmark to Nigeria.

Born in Denmark to parents of Nigerian descent, he is eligible to play for Nigeria as he has no senior competitive caps for Denmark. However, that idea is not on the table for now according to his representative.

“They are all conversations with the media. Nobody has contacted him (Tochi) and he has not contacted anyone either, but it is understandable why the conversations exist because he is doing well at a top club. When something changes, I will let you know,” he responded to our email.

He joined Rangers in January from Austrian side Sturm Graz and has been an ever-present with 18 appearances and 3 goals from his defensive midfield role.
