The young athletes from top Lagos schools demonstrated exceptional speed, determination and talent in the Fit Child Showdown Championship 2026producing exciting performances in the 100 and 200 meters finals in different age categories.
The championship, which brought together students from various schools, highlighted the rising level of youth athletics in Nigeria while also providing a platform for emerging talents to compete at a high level.

Abdulfatai leads men’s 100m final
The most notable performance of the day occurred in the Men’s 100 meters final (16-18 years)where Oduwole Abdulfatai of FC School burst into victory with a time of 10.79 seconds.
Oninwu Chimobi Academy of Faith, Ogba secured second place after timing 11.03 secondswhile Ogunyemi Eniola from De’Unique School finished third in 11.05 seconds.
Daniella wins the women’s 100 meters crown
In it Women’s 100 meters final (16-18 years), Emeifele Daniella from Faith Academy, Ogba became champion after crossing the finish line in 12.33 seconds.
Ogunaike Anuoluwapo of Alti-Velis School obtained second position with 13.20 secondswhile teammate Emmanuella Osuji completed the podium with 13.70 seconds.

Adepate dominates the women’s 200 meters final
He Women’s 200 m final (14-15 years) saw Adepate Sufiat of the De’Unique school Claim the gold with a winning time of 25.50 seconds.
Onasanya Ebunoluwa from Topfield School finished second in 26.00 secondswhile Oluwa Hameedah from Chrisland School came third after recording 27.46 seconds.
Mohammed leads the men’s 200 meters event
In it Men’s 200 m final (14-15 years), Oluokun Mohammed School of Ronik He took first place with a time of 24.45 seconds.
Enwiugha Basil from Amazing Talent College closely followed in second place with 24.80 secondswhile Okunlewe Tobilola Faith Academy, Ogba finished third in 25.13 seconds.
Faith Academy excels in the women’s 100 meters
He Women’s 100 meters final (14-15 years) was dominated by Faith Academy athletes like Adesuyi Fadekemi He achieved victory with a time of 12.51 seconds.

The younger competitors also put in impressive performances in the 100 meter finals (10-11 years).
At the boys’ event, Agu Chukwudi from Chrisland School won with a time of 13.48 secondsahead of Juan Pablo de Herene School who scored 13.75 secondswhile Amuwa Qulbert from De’Unique school finished third in 14.37 seconds.
In the women’s category, Oshoilowo Zuriel from Chrisland School took first place after finishing in 14.58 seconds.
Hassan Esther from the R&B school secured second position with 14.90 secondswhile Babawale Mojoyinoluwa from Rose Valley School completed the podium with 15.23 seconds.
