Tinubu makes new appointments; Fayose, Aliyu, Abubakar, Okoya-Thomas, Barde, Okoh, Ndukwe, others in

President Bola Tinubu has approved 26 appointments across 10 federal government agencies and commissions, appointing former Ekiti governor, Ayo Fayose, as the Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).

This is contained in a statement released on Monday in Abuja by the presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga.

Tinubu also appointed the retired Maj. Gen. Junaid Bindawa as Chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Compensation Commission.

Fayose will head the REA board of directors alongside Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Ilyasu Makinta as members and non-executive directors.

The agency’s director general, Abba Aliyu, and three previously appointed executive directors complete the REA board of directors.

The President also approved eight appointments to the National Salaries, Incomes and Remunerations Commission.

Former member of the House of Representatives, Mrs. Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas, has been appointed as the secretary of the commission.

Dr Ogbole Lilian, Mr Oladele Olatubosun and Mr Yakubu Barde were appointed commissioners representing Benue, Oyo and Kaduna States respectively.

Other members are Dr Mai Adamu Yau (Borno), Ginika Tor (Enugu), Lawrence Okoh (Edo) and Mrs Bello Morenike Iyabode (Kogi).

Tosin Adeyanju has been redeployed from the National Lottery Trust Fund to serve as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Taxation Commission.

Tinubu also appointed Dr Abuh Mohammed as Director General of the National Population Commission and Dr Akinola Odeyemi as Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc.

Dr Anthony Godwin has been appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission.

Mr Julius Oloro has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the National Center for Agricultural Mechanisation, replacing the late Dr AR Kamal.

The President also constituted the Board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, chaired by Dr. Abdullahi Saidu.

Other council members are Mohammed Asmau, Mohammed Makama, Dr Suleiman Gidado, Louis Ndukwe, Amaechi Ugwele and Olaniyi Onikola.

Shuni Dahiru has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult Education and Non-Formal Education.

Gisaor Iorja has been appointed Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority, replacing Mathias Byuan, who resigned.

According to the Presidency, all appointments have immediate effect.
