Dr Sunday Obaseki, an administrative resource and official of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will lead the Euromatch Nigeria Premier Football League on an interim basis, reports Wakawaka Sports Extra.
Following Thursday’s resignation of Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau as president of the Nigeria Football Federation, Dr Mohammed Sanusi as general secretary and members of the executive committee, the National Sports Commission has sacked Gbenga Elegbeleye as president of the NPFL and Davidson Owumi as chief operating officer.
Wakawaka Sports Extra understands that Dr Obaseki will direct the proceedings of the championship, particularly the curtain raiser of the 2026/27 season in Ibadan between Shooting Stars and Inter Lagos.
It was also learned that a new Chief Operating Officer will be appointed in due course to oversee the league pending the conclusion of interim measures designed to ensure continuity in the administration of Nigerian football.
