The president of Smart City FC, the Hon. Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka, has expressed confidence in the club’s preparation for the 2026/27 Nigeria National League (NNL) season, assuring that the Lagos-based team is ready to compete vigorously for success.
Adeyinka, who is also Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development, said his busy schedule and commitments at the national level limited his involvement in the day-to-day management of the club.
“I don’t talk much because of my position. I am the president of the club. I have a tight schedule and commitments to the country,” he said.
The Smart City president, however, expressed confidence in the club’s managerial and technical structure, stressing that competent personnel have been put in place ahead of the new NNL campaign.
“I have a reliable operations director of the club, Seun Betiku. We also have a reliable technical director, while all the coaches are working excellently,” said Adeyinka.
Adeyinka further revealed that coach Eddie Dumbraye is the technical advisor of Smart City FC, and works together with other experienced coaches, administrators and technical staff to build a competitive team.
“We have experienced coaches, managers and technical staff working with the team. With the youngsters you saw yesterday we are ready,” he added.
He said the combination of young players and experienced coaching staff positioned Smart City to challenge strongly in the 2026/27 NNL season.
“We are ready and prepared to compete at the highest level of football in the country,” Adeyinka said.
