Lagos singer Yung Effissy was born and raised in Nigeria and released solo single “Fowosere” on September 8, adding to a productive 2026 of new content.

The album comes on the heels of “Together,” which dropped at the end of August and finds Yung Effissy working without a featured guest. This rapid reversal is indicative of the continuous release pattern that has characterized much of his year.

Officially classified as pop, the song’s presentation is closely tied to the street-facing approach that has shaped much of her career. Yung Effissy is still the only artist and does not depend on collaboration as the main attraction.
