Abuja (Core Reporters) – The South East Development Commission (SEDC) has reaffirmed its commitment to accelerating development in the South East, as Nigeria celebrates its 66th anniversary of independence.

In a goodwill message issued by the Board of Directors and Management, the Commission congratulated Nigerians on the anniversary, describing the occasion as an opportunity to reflect on the nation’s journey while renewing collective commitment to national development.

The SEDC celebrated the resilience, unity and resourcefulness of Nigerians, particularly the people of the South East, whose contribution, it said, remains significant to Nigeria’s economic and social development.

According to the Commission, the anniversary offers Nigerians an opportunity to strengthen bonds of unity and intensify collective efforts towards building a more prosperous South East and a stronger Nigeria.

He urged citizens to remain confident and committed to nation-building, stressing the need for greater collaboration in creating opportunities, promoting development and improving the well-being of Nigerians.

The Commission expressed optimism that the years ahead will bring greater development, prosperity and opportunities for the South East and the country at large.

The SEDC Board and Management have wished Nigerians a peaceful, joyful and memorable celebration of Independence Day.
