As part of efforts to stimulate Nigeria’s domestic growth through small businesses, the Nigerian Association of Small Scale Industrialists (NASSI) in collaboration with Zamkah Technologies will engage small entrepreneurs with the aim of equipping them to transform businesses into global brands.
The National President of the association, Chief Solomon Daniel Vongfa, told journalists that the 35th National Convention of NASSI scheduled for December 1, 2026 in Abuja is a deliberate platform to engage with small business entrepreneurs, cross-fertilize ideas, find areas of collaboration such as to further deepen the demands of a stronger economy that reduces excessive dependence on government.
NASSI is a non-profit organization founded in 1978 to support and promote micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across Nigeria.
The association is committed to opening up access to finance for entrepreneurs, helping members secure financing, loans and grants through partnerships with institutions such as the Bank of Industry.
Dr Vongfa said the conference and interaction will also provide entrepreneurs with the opportunity to forge the right alliances that will unlock staff capacity building opportunities through training programmes, workshops and corporate seminars.
“As an organization with the key function of advocating for government policies that make it easier to run a small business in Nigeria, the convention will explore possible avenues that will enable business models that suit businesses and make them competitive,” he said.
According to him, one of NASSI’s main responsibilities is also to organize fairs and exhibitions to promote local products.
He said NASSI’s programs are in line with the government’s emphasis and desire to promote local products for both local and foreign consumption.
“NASSI has taken bold steps in this regard and we are determined to ensure that Nigeria remains not only the giant of Africa on paper but in reality. And to truly deserve it, we must redouble our efforts on domestic production, product quality and ensure that entrepreneurs have access to finance and are mentally equipped,” he said.
